European supplier of cultivated Ulva macroalgae
Ecoalga cultivates Ulva ohnoi in the Río Piedras marshes in Cartaya (Huelva, Spain) and processes it into raw material, custom extracts and agricultural biostimulants. We supply distributors, formulators and industry across the European Union, with batch-level traceability and formats from 5 litres to tanker loads.
Cultivated in Europe — not wild-harvested, not imported
There are two usual ways to source Ulva biomass: harvest it from the wild, or import it dried from Asia. We do a third: we grow it, in a protected natural area on Spain's Atlantic coast.
What that changes for a buyer:
- A known, verifiable origin. A specific location, not “the Atlantic”.
- Plannable supply. Harvest is scheduled, not opportunistic.
- Batch-level traceability back to the pond.
- Short logistics inside the European Union.

Our biostimulant carries CAAE organic farming certification.
FAQ
Do you grow the seaweed yourselves or buy it?
We grow it. Our own cultivation in the Río Piedras marshes, Cartaya.
Which countries do you supply?
The European Union. Outside Spain we currently have distribution in Romania. Tell us your country in the enquiry and we will confirm the situation for that territory. The full list of countries served is being confirmed.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Being confirmed. Tell us the format and the volume you have in mind and we will answer with the real minimum for that line.
Can we develop a private-label product?
Yes. We develop the extract and you bring it to market under your own brand, with formulation co-development where the market requires it.
What traceability do you offer?
Every batch is identified with its harvest date and origin.
Is the product certified for organic farming?
Yes — CAAE certification, issued by the Andalusian organic farming committee. We are confirming whether the certificate covers the raw material, the formulated product, or both.
