The environment

An Atlantic marsh as a growing environment

The Río Piedras marshes provide the salinity, light and temperature conditions that Ulva ohnoi needs. Cultivation takes place in controlled ponds, which allows us to plan volumes and keep the origin of every harvest identified.

Traceability

From the pond to the delivered batch

Four stages that let us document where each kilogram of Ulva comes from.

  1. Controlled cultivation

Ulva ohnoi grown in ponds in the Río Piedras marshes, under monitored conditions.

  2. Harvest by campaign

Harvesting is planned per campaign, recording date, pond and batch.

  3. Processing

Washing, draining and processing into fresh, dried or extract format at our own facilities.

  4. Batch and dispatch

Each dispatch is linked to its batch, so origin can be traced back to the pond.

Processing

Own handling and processing

After harvesting, the seaweed is washed, drained and processed into the format each client requires. Working with our own facilities lets us adapt the process to the specifications of each industrial project.
